Saint Albert Hurtado medal that features the saint on the front and the Virgin of Carmel on the backside. St. Alberto Hurtado was a twentieth-century Chilean Jesuit known for his work helping revive the Church in Chile as well as providing shelter for those in need. He maintained a deep, lifelong devotion to the Virgin Mary, viewing her as a maternal guide in his ministry to the poor. He intentionally entered the Jesuit novitiate on August 15, the Feast of the Assumption, to honor her. He famously prayed the rosary nightly, regardless of his exhaustion

Hurtado was canonized on October 23, 2005, by Pope Benedict XVI, becoming his country's second saint. He is the patron saint of Chile, poor people, homeless children, social workers, and is also known as a class patron in Xavier School.
