Saint Josephine Bakhita Medal - Patron of Human Trafficking Survivors and Sudan
SKU: CM123Saint Josephine, affectionately known as Bakhita (“fortunate one”), was born in the southern Sudan region of Darfur. She was kidnapped as a child and sold into slavery, eventually working in Italy as a nanny for a wealthy family. It was during this time that she was introduced to formal religion and came to know the Daughters of Charity of Canossa, or the Canossian Sisters. Bakhita was drawn to the Catholic Church, she was baptized in 1890 and given the name Josephine. Six years later she entered the Canossian Sisters convent in Schio, Italy.
On October 1, 2000, she was canonized as Saint Josephine Bakhita. She is venerated as a modern African saint, and as a statement against the brutal history of slavery.
She is the patron of Sudan, South Sudan, and human-trafficking survivors.

All packages are shipped via USPS (United States Postal Service). Tracking and delivery confirmation are included in the cost of shipping (your tracking number will be emailed to you as soon as your package ships).
Canada: We offer two flat rate options for shipping. You can choose which works best for you during the checkout process. Your package will ship via USPS (United States Postal Service) until it arrives in Canada. It will then be delivered by Canada Post.

USPS Priority Mail flat rate shipping (6-15 Day) - $38.95
