Saint Kateri Tekakwitha Medal - Lily of the Mohawks Patron of the Environment and Ecology

Saint Kateri Tekakwitha oval medal. The front of the medal depicts the saint and the reverse is marked "Pray for us". This detailed die-cast medal is made in the region of Italy that produces the finest quality medals in the world.

She is the patron of ecologists, ecology, the environment, environmentalism, loss of parents, people in exile, people ridiculed for their piety, and World Youth Day. Her symbols are a lily (a symbol of her purity); a cross (a symbol of her love of Jesus Christ); and a turtle (a symbol of her clan). 

Kateri Teckakwitha was declared venerable by the Catholic Church in 1943 and she was Beatified in 1980 and Canonized in 2012. She is the first Native American to be declared Blessed & Canonized. Her feast day is July 14.
