The front of the medal is an embossed image of the Holy Face of Jesus (Shroud of Turin) . Around the edge in Latin are the words "Illumina Domine Vultum Tuum Super Nos" which translate to "Lord, shine your face upon us". The reverse side of the medal has a starburst nimbus with "IHS" in the center. Around the edge in Latin are the words "Mane Nobiscum Domine" which translates to "Stay with us, Lord". At the bottom of the backside are the letters "A.M.D.G. which is a Latin acronym for "Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam" (For the Greater Glory of God).
