Vintage Silver Crucifix Cross Pendant - Maastricht Pilgrimage of the Relics
SKU: 12434Vintage silver-tone crucifix pendant with a flat design. The body of Christ is almost completely worn smooth (please see all photos). There is writing above and below the body of Christ but it is also worn very smooth. The only word I can decipher is "Maastricht" at the very bottom of the cross, it was most likely purchased on a pilgrimage trip.
Maastricht is a city in the Netherlands. It is a university city on the southern tip of the Netherlands that is distinguished by its medieval-era architecture and vibrant cultural scene. In its cobbled old town, is the Gothic-style church Sint Janskerk, and the Romanesque Basilica of St. Servatius that houses a significant collection of religious art. The Pilgrimage of the Relics or Maastricht Septennial Pilgrimage is a seven-yearly Catholic event in the Dutch city of Maastricht. Originating in the Middle Ages, it developed from a pilgrimage to the grave of Saint Servatius into the present-day religious, historical, cultural, and commercial enterprise. Highlights in the program are the displaying or unveiling of the relics in the main churches and secondly, the processions with the town's main relics. The next pilgrimage will take place in 2025.
The crucifix is non-magnetic. Please see all photos as this crucifix has been prayed over many times and shows signs of age and use.

Canada: We offer two flat rate options for shipping. You can choose which works best for you during the checkout process. Your package will ship via USPS (United States Postal Service) until it arrives in Canada. It will then be delivered by Canada Post.
