Vintage Wooden Coffin Crucifix with Death Certificate - 1940s Funeral Memorabilia - Wooden Crucifix Cross Wall Hanging
SKU: 11570Vintage casket or coffin cross that I found at a local estate sale recently. Coffin crosses were attached to the casket during funeral services then removed after the service to be kept as mementos by the loved ones of the deceased. The cross is wood that has been painted an off-white color. The body of Jesus is metal that has been painted gold. There is a small hook on the back for hanging on a wall. There is a small compartment in the back that has a brass sliding cover. Inside are three pieces of paper rolled up. They gave the name of the deceased and other info pertaining to the funeral (please note photo # 4 and 5). It is in good vintage condition but does show some signs of age and wear, mostly chipped corners and paint loss.
